The only downside of the place is a lot of things need replacing (the oven, several chairs) for example. Apart from that, it's a great experience and worth checking out for a few days.

I stayed here earlier this year and liked the experience so much I went back.

Most people often end up here after winning a quiz or something at Aquarius in Byron Bay or via Nomads. It's not worth as much as they say - you can come on your own for cheaper, but does open your eyes up to something you might not normally discover.

You can do what you want - you don't have to canoe if you don't want to but it is a nice experience. It is also safe to swim. I saw one small snake, and apparently there can be sharks but they are tiny. The main threat you will face is a sting ray, which is why you're advised to hit shallow water banks with a paddle when you get to an island you want to explore.

So, never pay money to visit this place it's just a waste of time! Rats in the kitchen spiders dirty everywhere! Staff not helpful at all! They sent us off canoing without a guide or anything just a map, when we came to a local beach a older person said we had to be careful because of the sharks in the sea. That's nothing we heard about while goven the canoes. Cigarette ashes in the kitchen, all plates are dirty and not a noce atmosphare at all.

The staff here are lovely and will do their best to help you. The manager is English who moved here years ago and will give as good as she gets (in a friendly way).

You WILL get dirty here, You're outdoors. You WILL get eaten alive by mosquitoes. You're outdoors and by water. Just make sure you bring some soap (there are showers!) and bug spray. And enough food, water, booze and condoms to last.

It was terrible! Nobody that came with us at the kayaking. We had to go on our own and tried to find the right way. We almost collapsed. It was raining the howle time the Trends were evacualted every night so we had to sleep on Clement floor next to poisoned frogs and Mais. Now we are all sick. don't go there!!!!

It's not as active as you think - although it's advertised as a canoeing break, you are pretty much given the canoe and then are on your own. No staff go with you but it's relatively safe and you go in groups. It requires a bit of stamina, but you are usually hungover so everyone 'suffers'. Gagaju is actually a big party place. There is an awesome cinema room, but you stay in a wooden lodge (and then tents, which are provided), and all there is to do is cook or sit around a camp fire and play drinking games. This means you get to talk to a lot of people. You don't have to drink, of course, but it's nice to get out of a normal hostel atmosphere and into bush life.

Awesome camp with very nice people, great experience, and the Staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. Vut be aware, it is a bushcamp, so be prepared for camping.

People will tell you you're not in the 'proper' Everglades but you are, pretty much. You're right next to the water and a lot of wildlife. Don't expect to see anything too exotic - it is mostly birds and jumping fish (especially at sunset). But you might get lucky and see some sting rays or the occasional kangaroo. Yes, there are spiders, but you're in the bush and you rarely see them, unless Jono asks you to chainsaw firewood with him (which I did) and the bastards then scramble up your arm after coming out of the bark.

got told the tour is for free but everyone had to park a 'nationalpark fee' of 50$. I thought it was kind of a tour but you stay in the middle of nowhere without reception and all they do is sending you canoeing in three days of stay. Waste of time and not worth the money, staff was unfriendly and they didn't give back deposits for gear that's been already damaged, ridiculous...
